NEW SWEDEN – Edgar W. Doak, 94, died Aug. 10, 2009, in Caribou, after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 5, 1915, in Caribou, the son of Henry and Estella (Holmes) Doak. Edgar was employed with Bangor and Aroostook Railroad and was also a self-employed farmer for many years. He was also employed at Potato Service as a security guard. He was a member of Christian Life Assembly, Crouseville. Edgar was also a volunteer at Cary Medical Center for many years. He is survived by three sons, Bernard “Bunny” Doak and his wife, Betty, of Deland, Fla., Phil Doak and his wife, Jackie, of Woodland and Russell Doak and his wife, Charlotte, of Caribou; a daughter, Helen Ouellette and her husband, Wayne, of Griswold, Conn.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Edgar was predeceased by a son, Robert Doak; and by his brothers and sisters. Friends may call 2 p.m. until the time of services Saturday, Aug. 15, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where a funeral service will be held 3 p.m. with Pastor David MacIntyre, pastor, officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Edgar may do so to Christian Life Assembly Memorial Fund.
