MARSHFIELD – Richard Wayne Wallace, 48, passed away Aug. 8, 2009, after a second battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 7, 1960, in Calais, the son of Richard D. and Effie M. (Erquhart) Wallace. Richard was a graduate of Machias Memorial High School. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Belleau Wood as an aviation boatswain mate. After returning home, he worked as a carpenter. Richard enjoyed working in his garden and trout fishing. He is survived by his sisters, Jo Anne McGinnis and her husband, Edward and their children, Jeremy and Ryan, and Susan Albee and her husband, Geary and their children, Christina and Alaina; and his special friends, Naida and Perry Pennell. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center for the special care they extended to Richard during his final days. Committal services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at Longfellow Cemetery with Pastor John Sprague officiating.
