BANGOR and GARLAND – Kenneth L. Jones, 96, passed away Aug. 16, 2009, at a Bangor health care center. He was born May 20, 1913, in Bangor, the son of Bert and Inez (Avery) Jones, the last of six children. Kenneth served with the U.S. Army parachute infantry during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and worked for 18 years as a building foreman with Georgia Pacific. He had recently received the Boston Post Cane for the town of Garland as the town’s eldest citizen. Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Robinson of Troy; a grandson, Krisken Robinson and his wife, Marta; and great-grandsons, David and Nick, all of New York. Services will be private.
