BANGOR – Gladys B. (Moores) Denbow, 87, passed away Aug. 19, 2009, at her home with her family at her side. She was born July 2, 1922, in Trescott, the daughter of Levi and Bessie (Moores) Moores. Gladys loved knitting, crossword puzzles and her flowers. She is survived by her daughters, Kay Ashby of Charlotte, Sylvia Parker of Bangor and Viola Munson of Lubec; one son, Lewis Denbow of Bangor; two brothers, Merrill Moores of Eastport and Raymond Moores of Trescott; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jenny Blush. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Violet Freeman; six brothers, Philip, Clifton, Leo, Harold, Gordon and Albert; and one sister, Shirley. A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor of Bangor Advent Christian Church, officiating.
