BANGOR – Eileen Frances Plummer, 87, died Aug. 20, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Bangor, daughter of Leo Michael and Ella (Fahey) McCann. Eileen was a graduate of John Bapst High School, Class of 1935 and Gilman Commercial School. She had been employed by GTE, formerly Sylvania. Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting and sewing. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Carleton “Carl” Plummer of Bangor; seven children, Donald Plummer and his companion, Linda Perkins, of Old Town, Carlene Stanislawczyk and her husband, Edward, of Monroe Township, N.J., Thomas Plummer of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., William Plummer and his wife, Geneva, of Milford, Sherry Glencross and her husband, Stephen, of Orono, Kathie Lewis and her husband, Richard, of Searsmont and Timothy Plummer and his wife, Randi, of Poland; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Plummer. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at St. Paul the Apostle St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor.
