LITTLETON and CARIBOU – Helen E. Rouse, 88, passed away peacefully Aug. 19, 2009, surrounded by her family at a local health care facility. She was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Carlisle, New Brunswick, daughter of J. Allen and Sadie E. (Coffey) Orser. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing and crocheting. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Helen is survived by her children, Daniel S. Rouse and his wife, Joy, of Minnesota, Nancy J. Hanning and her partner, Larry Haley, of Presque Isle, Penny Corbin and her husband, Brian, of Caribou and Donnie W. Rouse Sr. of Medway; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Rouse of Michigan, Tamara Rouse of Minnesota, Jordan Rouse of Minnesota, Rodney T. Hanning Jr. of Kentucky, Michael Hanning of Mapleton, Joshua Hanning of Houlton, Donnie Rouse Jr. of Medway, Tanya Corbin of Caribou, Adam Rouse of Medway, Brian Corbin Jr. of Caribou and Sarah Rouse of Tennessee; five great-grandchildren, Chance Hanning, Gage Hanning, Trinity Hanning, Aidan Hanning and Mieli Hanning; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Donald Rouse in 1998; one daughter, Avis Bonnie Rouse; an infant grandson; and two sisters, Madeline Paget and Beatrice Kinney. Friends may call noon until the time of service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Maurice Gray officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
