FORT KENT – Rella Potvin, 97, died peacefully Sept. 2, 2009, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born Nov. 19, 1911, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Arsense and Melvina (Corriveau) Theriault. Rella was a past member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Fort Kent. She will be remembered as a devoted cook, gardener and a great mother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Maurice Potvin of Bristol, Conn.; three daughters, Claudette Landry of Venice, Fla., Rena Pelletier of Bristol, Conn., and Beatrice Pelletier of New Jersey; one foster son, Felix of Bangor; two sisters, Alixina Voisine of Pennsylvania and Jeanette Theriault of Fort Kent; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; also Marcel Valcourt, husband of the late Valery Ann Valcourt. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard Potvin in 1998; one daughter, Valery Ann Valcourt; seven brothers, Oneil, Ernest, Renee, Raoul, George, Aurele and Reginald; and three sisters, Regina, Agnes and Mina. Friends may call 8 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal service will be afterward in the parish cemetery.
