ORRINGTON – Gayle M. Pollard, 52, died peacefully Sept. 2, 2009, after courageously fighting cancer for the past six years. She was born Oct. 7, 1956, in Bangor, a daughter of Frederick and Theresa (LaBree) Pollard. Gayle was a fiercely independent yet kind and caring woman with a deep love and devotion for her family and friends. She loved the outdoors and was at peace in nature. She is survived by her parents, Fred and Theresa Pollard; her son, Austin Pollard; a granddaughter, Rayna Pollard; three siblings, Dick Pollard and his wife, Linda and their family, Victoria Sibley and her husband, Jeff and their family, and Mark Pollard and his wife, Lori and their family; and her special and loving companion, Doug Roy. She was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Pollard. Memorial contributions in Gayle’s name may be made to the Maine Affiliate – Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O.
