SCARBOROUGH – Cheryl A. Lancaster passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, with her husband by her side at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She was born in Lincoln to Benjamin and Villa Oliver. Cheryl was a true lover of life. She married her high school sweetheart, Dale Lancaster. They moved to Brewer, where they raised their son and two daughters. Cheryl had a passion for flowers and worked as a floral designer for several years. She was able to make many wonderful memories on countless trips with her loving husband and their “Webber family.” She loved to dance and was often the life of the party. Cheryl spent numerous summers with friends and family at their camp on Green Lake, their condo in Old Orchard Beach and their home in Harpswell. They spent 55 loving years together making memories that will last forever. Cheryl has touched us all and will live on in our hearts forever. She was predeceased by her father, Benjamin Oliver; her mother, Villa Karls; her stepfather, Emmett Karls; and brother, Donald Oliver. She is survived by her husband, Dale Lancaster; son, Alan Lancaster; daughter, Shelly West and her husband, Arthur West; daughter, Monalee Legassie and husband, David Legassie; grandchildren, Aaron Faulkingham, Jenny Randall and husband, Michael Randall, Travis Legassie and friend, Chelsea MacKinnon, Jason Legassie and friend, Nicki MacDonald, James West and Christina West; great-grandchildren, Ashley Randall and Whitney Randall; brothers, Edward Dysart, Byron Oliver and Phillip Oliver and wife, Joyce Oliver; many nieces and nephews, and countless special friends. A memorial service is to be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at The Landing at Pine Point, 353 Pine Point Road, Scarborough, with a celebration of Cheryl’s life afterward.
