MONTICELLO – Judith Ann Swimm, 66, beloved wife, mother and nana, went to be with her Lord Sept. 2, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born July 13, 1943, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Gilman) Carter. Judith was a member of Lake Road Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed singing many of her own written songs. She held many jobs throughout the years, but will be most fondly remembered for her many years at the Monticello Store. Judy’s love for others, her smile, cheerful personality and positive attitude even when faced with many hardships was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Judith is survived by her husband, Glenn Swimm of Monticello; one son, Randall Swimm of Bridgewater; three daughters, Wanda Cote and her husband, Daniel, of Monticello, Karen Heath and her fiance, Richard Kneeland, of Littleton, and Terri Swimm of Houlton; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, Courtney, Katelyn, Curtis, Alexis, Crystal and Randy; two great-grandchildren, Dawson and Addison, and a very special great-grandchild on the way, Sophie Judith; one brother, Ronnie Carter of Skowhegan; one sister, Janice Carter of Skowhegan; special nephew, Jason Carter; several nieces and nephews; beloved friends, Edie May and Adelle Bradbury; adopted daughter, Jennifer Griffin; and all the very special friends she had during the years. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Dunn Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Carl DeMerchant officiating. Interment will be at Foster Cemetery.
