Orono police officers, including a canine unit, and Downeast Emergency Medicine Institute searched along the railroad tracks and in the woods behind Webster Park on Monday for a man they say has been missing for 10 days.

Few details about the search were available Monday, except that the man is 20 years old and is not dangerous, except possibly to himself, an officer at the scene said.

A camp along Pushaw Lake was broken into recently and its owner is offering a reward for the return of stolen sports memorabilia and other items.

Owner Dale Lowe of Brewer said his camp at 16 Bouchard Lane, which is on the Glenburn side of the lake, was broken into three weeks ago. Items taken include a portable DVD player, sports memorabilia and about 5,000 baseball cards.

“Some were complete sets, with rookie cards included,” Lowe said. “And there were four or five [Red Sox] pictures taken off the wall.”

Lowe said his 25-year-old son began collecting the sports items when he was a young boy.

“It’s not about the money,” he said. “It’s hard to replace my son’s” collection. Anyone who has information about the theft can contact Deputy Noel Santiago at the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department at 947-4585, or Lowe at 659-0511. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
