FRANKLIN – David E. Williams, 96, died Sept. 8, 2009, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1912, in Franklin, the son of Amos and Ora (Grindle) Williams. He worked as a carpenter, boat builder, school bus driver for 30 years and a sheriff’s deputy. He was a life member of Franklin Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Erma (Reed) Williams; a son, Lloyd and his wife, Sharon (McGown) Williams; grandson, Michael Scott Williams; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Brandon, Jacob and Hunter Williams and Jack Cooper Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Norman. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Bayview Cemetery, Franklin. The family invites relatives and friends to a memorial reception after the graveside service at Franklin Veterans’ Club, 4 Cards Crossing, Franklin.
