VAN BUREN – Alphy St. Pierre, 83, died Sept. 12, 2009, at a Caribou hosptal. He was born Oct. 19, 1925, in Van Buren, the son of Jean and Hattie (Cote) St. Pierre. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post No. 49, Van Buren. He is survived by one son, Alphy St. Pierre and his wife, Elaine, of Crossville, Tenn.; four daughters, Joan Michaud and her husband, Chanel, Rachel Levesque and her husband, Gene, all of Van Buren, Patricia James and her husband, George, of Limestone and Nancy Chasse and her husband, Wallace, of Mapleton; eight grandchildren, Kelly, Amy, Jason, Kristy, Matthew, Keith, Amanda and Adam; and six great-grandchildren, Miranda, Gabrielle, Eli, Chandler, Landon and Kody. He was predeceased by his wife, Mamie (Gagnon) St. Pierre in 1985; a son, Melvin St. Pierre in 1950; a daughter, Linda St. Pierre in 1985; and by one grandson, Bryan James in 2003. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
