TRENTON – Elizabeth Bell Price passed peacefully Sept. 12, 2009, while attended by her loving son, the Very Rev. Stephen W. Price and wife, Kathleen Deets Price, at her home on Oak Point. Elizabeth was born Jan. 27, 1917, in Rochester, N.H., to Elizabeth Salisbury Bell and William Henry Bell. As a young woman, she studied and became a registered nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. She married the love of her life, Louis Henry Price, June 10, 1939, and lived and raised their family on Peaceable Hill Road, Ridgefield, Conn., for 35 years. Mr. Price owned and operated Ridgefield Supply Co. They retired to Oak Point, Trenton, in 1974, where they had built their home on property previously owned by Mrs. Price’s maternal family, the Salisburys of Bar Harbor. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mr. Louis H. Price; and her two brothers, William Bell and Allen Bell. She is survived by her son, the Very Rev. Stephen Wright Price and his wife, Kathleen Deets Price, of Downingtown, Pa.; her son, Louis Henry Price and his wife, Jo Anne Tomanio Price, of Ridgefield, Conn.; and her daughter, Elizabeth Margret Price and her husband, G. Michael LaPorte, of Glastonbury, Conn. She greatly loved her grandson, Peter Price and his wife, Megan; grandson, Christopher Price and his wife, Petra; granddaughter, Alicia Baker and her husband, Denman; granddaughter, Kerry Price; granddaughter, Margaret Sims and her husband, Sean; and youngest grandchild, Michael Louis Price LaPorte. She treasured her great-grandchildren, Sophia Price, Tilden Baker, Tristan Price and Mark Sims. Her extended family and many friends were always in her heart and prayers. Elizabeth’s family expresses their gratitude and appreciation to Holly Perry of Milbridge, who was Mrs. Price’s kind and loving caretaker and companion for 18 years. We also express thanks to the staff at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ms. Brenda Gray, Heartworks and Hancock County Hospice program. All of you helped the family to honor Elizabeth’s wish to have a dignified and peaceful passing in her own home. Services for Elizabeth will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Church of Our Father, Hulls Cove. There will be an interment next to her husband in the Salisbury family plot at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor, after services.
