NORMA D. WEBB ISLAND FALLS – Norma D. Webb, 89, died Sept. 12, 2009, in Patten. She was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Monticello, the daughter of Eric and Otalee (Harris) Rush. Norma worked for Pratt and Whitney aircraft assembly plant in New Britain, Conn., during World War II. She subsequently returned to Maine and spent many years working as a nurse’s aide. She married John Webb, April 18, 1959, and lived the remainder of her life in Island Falls. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and belonged to Whittier Congregational Church. Norma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband of 50 years of Island Falls, she is survived by one daughter, Cheryl and her husband, Ray Tardif, of Auburn; two granddaughters, Lauren and Janelle; one sister, Earla Chase; one brother, Austin Rush; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Almon Rush, Esma Omicioli and Frances Rush. The family expresses a heart-felt appreciation to Mount Heights Health Care Facility for their gentle care. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Monday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with Amanda Wagner officiating. Interment will be at Island Falls Cemetery.
