GREENVILLE – Robert H. Simko, 73, died Sept. 13, 2009, at a Greenville hospital. He was born May 10, 1936, in Bridgeport, Conn., son of Harold and Elsie Simko. Bob was raised in Brownville and graduated from Brownville Junction High School. After high school, he owned and operated Simko’s Garage, Dover-Foxcroft, for many years. He later moved to Rockwood where he worked in the construction business. Bob also spent time as an over the road trucker out of Corinna. He was well known as a great mechanic; someone who could fix anything. Above all, Bob valued his friends and treasured his family. He is survived by a son, John Simko and his partner, Amanda, of Greenville; stepchildren, Brian Loiselle and his wife, Melanie, of Bangor, and Michelle Loiselle and her partner, Rich, of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Courtney, Brian, Benjamin and Jasmine; and sister, Mary Carter and family of Calais. He is also survived by a former spouse, Virginia Simko of Greenville; longtime friend and companion, Kay Loiselle of Greenville; and his loyal friend and sidekick, Mike Bernier of Greenville. He was predeceased by a beloved sister, Judy Simko. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Greenville Chapel of Crosby & Neal, located in the Masonic building in Greenville, with Pastor Harbour Mitchell III officiating. There will be a reception in the Masonic building immediately after the service. Graveside committal services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Brownville Village Cemetery.
