LINCOLN – Betty L. Savage, 75, died Sept. 15, 2009, at a Lincoln health care facility, after a long illness. She was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Lincoln, the daughter of Grover and Viena (Staples) Ireland. Betty enjoyed bowling and loved the Red Sox, playing cards and going to the Timberhouse for lunch with her sisters. She worked at The Rosebowl, The Villager and Ella’s. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Regina Drake of Florida, Ronald Savage and his wife, Tammy, of Burlington, and Brian Savage and his wife, Theresa, of Lincoln; two sisters, Kay Tait, and Viena Godbyr and her husband, Vic, all of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dog, Tai; and two special friends, Marilyn Vose and Jeanette Richmond. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Lois Olsen. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Community Evangel Temple with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating.
