SPRINGFIELD – Edna E. Worster, 78, wife of Berle Worster, passed away peacefully Sept. 18, 2009, with her family at her side, at Penobscot Valley Hospital. Edna was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Springfield, the daughter of Clarence and Florence (Staples) Tozier. Edna was known for cooking all kinds of goodies and giving it all away, especially her doughnuts. The doctor’s office loved to see her coming because she always brought them a bag of goodies. She also had all kinds of very good friends and they were always there for her. Edna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Berle Sr. of Care Ridge Estates, Lee; three sons, Berle Jr. and wife, Saralee, Harry and wife, Christine, all of Springfield and Frank and wife, Karen, of Augusta; a stepson, Charles and wife, Jeannie, of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Jay Worster and Paula, Rachel Hunter and Mike, Nicole Lee and Joe, Travis Worster and Holly, Chrisa McIver and Roger, Heather Worster, Samantha Caron and Jaimmie, Ami Slater and Andy, Mathew and Paul Worster; great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Chelsey, Lee, Ivan, Tylar, Ashlyn, Emma, Sierra Jean, Austin, Logan, Nathaniel and Sierra; a sister, Helen Hanscom and Donnie; many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Clarence and Florence Tozier, she was predeceased by brothers, William, Chester and Clinton; and sisters, Mildred and Caroline. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life to share memories noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at her home, 159 Main St., Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna’s memory in honor of her great-granddaughter, Chelsey J.
