SCARBOROUGH, CHESTER and LINCOLN – Elaine A. (Harmon) Reardon, 78, formerly of Lincoln and Chester, died Sept. 19, 2009, with her family at her side at Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford. She was born May 11, 1931, in Chester, in the home in which she lived for many years. She was the daughter of Leo and Mabel (Twist) Harmon. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 1438, Lincoln Center, and a member of Chester Baptist Church. She was well known and loved by all. She was known as a local caretaker to many, a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen to whomever had a problem. Family and friends always leaned on her for support and guidance. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Leroy. She is survived by seven children, Bonita (Reardon) Cox of Lincoln, Lee Reardon of Millinocket, Brent Reardon of Berwick, Roger Reardon of Chester, Kathy (Reardon) Moore of Saco, Gayle (Reardon) Montano of San Francisco and Sarah (Reardon) Goodrum of Saco; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mona (Harmon) Whiting of Canyon Lake, Calif.; three brothers, Leo Harmon of Berwick, Robert Harmon Sr. of Millinocket and Jack Harmon of Sonoma, Calif.; many nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at Southern Maine Medical Center, Maine Medical Center and Southridge Nursing Home for the excellent care given to Elaine. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Wayne Perry officiating. Interment will be at North Chester Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the American Heart Association or Chester Baptist Church Building Fund.
