MILFORD – Ralph D. Bond, 86, husband of Rosalie (Cote) Bond, passed away peacefully Sept. 21, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born May 15, 1923, in Milford, the son of Frederick and Lucinda (Weymouth) Bond. Ralph attended Milford and Old Town schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Ralph was a lifelong resident of Milford and retired from James River Co. paper mill in Old Town. In addition to his loving wife, Rose, he is survived by his children: sons, Ralph and his wife, Sandra, of South Dakota, Richard and his companion, Alice, of Greenfield, Ronald and his wife, Elizabeth, of New Hampshire, and Roger and his wife, Donna, of Greenfield; and daughter, Rebecca Bond Godard and her husband, Arnold, of Warren; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, many dear friends; and a special friend, Cindy Madden. Ralph was predeceased by his parents. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Milford Cemetery, Milford. A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held immediately after burial at VFW Post 3381, 64 Water St., Old Town.
