BELFAST – Randall “Randy” C. Banks, 52, died unexpectedly Sept. 21, 2009, at his residence. He was born March 6, 1957, in Belfast, the son of Robert and Edie (Verakis) Banks. He was a 1975 graduate of Belfast Area High School and married his love, Jan, in 1982. He worked for more than 30 years in his family business, Banks Brothers Machine Shop. Randy loved his family – his wife, his girls, his parents, his brothers, nieces and nephews. He loved his farm, guns and hunting. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Edie Banks of Belfast; his wife of 27 years, Jan Crosby Banks of Belfast; his children, Mallory and her fiance, Ryan Harnden, of Augusta, and Claire Banks of Belfast; his brother, Michael and wife, Stacey Banks, of Belfast; his brother, Dennis and wife, Therese Banks of Lewiston; his sister and her husband, Heidi and Herb Witzinowski of Germany; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at First Church, Court Street, Belfast. Interment will be at Banks Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Randy’s memory to the NRA, P.O.
