LEVANT – Gloria E. Phillips, 71, died Sept. 27, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 17, 1938, in Hermon, the daughter of Raymond and Roberta (Barnes) Goodspeed. Gloria was employed by Sears Roebuck & Co. for 28 years. She enjoyed traveling and most importantly spending time at home taking care of her family. Gloria and her husband attended Harvest Chapel, Levant; and was a member of Sunshine Club for Children and Levant Senior Citizens. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John Phillips of Levant; her three children, Karen and her husband, Ray Goodspeed, of Hermon, Earl Phillips and his wife, Myra, of Peoria, Ariz., and Diane and her husband, Luke Finley, of Levant; one sister and her husband, Shirley and Neal Reed of Lady Lake, Fla.; six grandchildren, Ray Goodspeed Jr. and his wife, Sarah, Kevin Goodspeed, John and Michael Phillips, Nicole and Brian Finley; one great-grandson, Jake Goodspeed; her stepmother, Alice Goodspeed of Bangor; a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Athel and Alden Keith of Levant; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, with the Rev. Stephen D.
