OAKFIELD – Marie Velma Cale, 63, died Sept. 27, 2009, at Houlton Regional Hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1946, in Kee-gan, the daughter of Alcide and Marcella (Pelletier) Cyr. She is survived by two daughters, Michele and her husband, Mark Sonnitta, of Torrington, Conn., and Susie and her husband, John Basso, of Windsted, Conn.; four grandchildren, Tyler, Jared, Amber Basso and Emma Sonnitta; brothers and sister, Nelson Cyr of Los Angeles, Noella Hoyt of Wells, Norma Calipietro of Berlin Center, Ohio, Moniqua Allen of Tafiville, Conn., Nancy Flewelling of Belmont, N.H., Linda Slauenwhite and Billy Cyr, all of Oakfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Frank; and two sisters, Maxine and Genene Cyr. She will be greatly missed by her many friends from the surrounding area. At Marie’s request, there will be no funeral services. A gathering of family and friends well be announced at a later date.
