VAN BUREN – Gilbert Roy, 76, died Sept. 27, 2009, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1932, in Hamlin, the son of Edmund and Cecile (Morin) Roy. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Gilbert worked for many years as a welder and pipefitter. He is survived by nine children, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five brothers and one sister. He was predeceased by his first wife, Clauda (Levesque) Roy in 1972; by a son-in-law, Stephen Maglio; by two grandsons, Joel Maglio and Kyle Wellman; and by a brother, Claude Roy. Relatives and friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
