BLAINE – George E. Mills, 69, beloved husband of Sharon (Cronkhite) Mills, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009. George was born Jan. 8, 1940, in Vanceboro, the eldest son of the late Robert Frederick Mills Sr. and Pearl Ester (Golding) Mills Tuck, and Josiah Hale Tuck. George loved spending time with his family and friends, and loved the sound of laughter. George never met a stranger! He was a Korean War veteran and worked for Aroostook Valley Railroad for many years, before retiring as president. George was a loving and devoted father to his daughters, Alicia Ann (Mills) Lunney and her husband, Paul Lunney, and Lynn (Mills) Lowe. George is also survived by nine beloved grandchildren, Marc Anthony Mills and his wife, Marie, Samantha Lynn, Jessi Lee, Mychaela-Alyzabeth Lacey and Cassandra Shaynne Lunney, Christopher Michael Lowe and his wife, Amanda, Khyver George, Keeghan Delbert and Khasen Claron Lowe; four great-grandchildren, Alliyah Haley and Cody Louis Lowe, and Pearce Ryaan and Norah Alizabeth Mills; a brother, Robert Frederick Mills Jr. and his wife, Edie; three sisters, Roberta Jandreau and her husband, Milton, Karen Tuck, and Brenda Thibodeau; sister-in-law, Gloria McDonald and her family; in-laws, Carol Brundage and her husband, Donald and their family, Afton “Sonny” Cronkhite and his wife, Betty and their family, and Ricky Cronkhite and his wife, Beverly and their family; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many, many beloved friends. George will also be missed by so many young people who are friends of his daughters and grandchildren, who he also thought of as his children and grandchildren; and will be greatly missed by his wonderful neighbors, Dana and Cleo Zaccardi and their family, who always took care of his flowers, yard work and snowplowing when he was no longer able to do it himself. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, and 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
