HODGDON – M. Marie Eagle, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior Oct. 1, 2009. Marie was born Oct. 25, 1928, in Easton, the daughter of Millard and Marguerite (Perrigo) Simpson. Marie was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She was a kind and giving woman who taught honesty and integrity through example. Marie enjoyed music, skiing, riding her snowsled and spending time at the family camp on Deering Lake, where she swam and paddled around in a canoe. She attended Amity Baptist Church. Marie was predeceased by her first husband, Clayton Quint; her second husband, William Eagle; her father, Millard Simpson; and granddaughter, Misty Quint. She is survived by her mother, Marguerite Simpson of Cary; three sons, Royce Quint and his wife, Lynda, of Hodgdon, Keith Quint and his wife, Catherine, of Northfield and Philip Quint and his wife, Carol, of Hodgdon; two daughters, Dawn Porter and her husband, Russell, of Amity and Gina Parent and her husband, Kevin, of Hodgdon; 15 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 10 great-stepgrandchildren, one great-great-grandson; one brother, John Simpson and his wife, Betsy, of Bangor; one sister, Geraldine West and her husband, Brent, of East Holden; many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins; and many special friends. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating.
