VAN BUREN – Jeanne Lavoie, 97, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Borderview Rehabilitation and Living Center, Van Buren. She was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Cyr Plantation, the daughter of Florent and Christine (Madore) Lebel. Jeanne enjoyed her home and tending to her flowers. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Wilfred Lavoie, in April 1989. Jeanne and Wilfred had two children and raised another daughter, who survive her: a son, Raymond Lavoie and wife, Anne, of Enfield, Conn., and two daughters, Kathleen Cyr and husband, Gerald, of Van Buren, and Jeannette Page and husband, Ronald, of Limestone; nine grandchildren, Stacey, Jennifer, Sylvie, Lisa, Michelle, Steve, Kevin, Paul and Scott; and six great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 14 siblings, Marie Lebel Tardif, Joseph Lebel, Annie Lebel Ruest, Ida Lebel, Francois Lebel, Eva Lebel Lavoie, Addis Lebel, Wilfred Lebel, Mattie Lebel Gagnon, Sadie Lebel, Clara Lebel Fongemie, Alma Lebel, Gilbert Lebel and Romeo Lebel. Relatives and friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
