WINTHROP – Donna M. Parker, 72, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Augusta. She was born June 8, 1937, in Augusta, the daughter of Herbert and Gladys (Murray) Blethen. Donna worked at Fosters Restaurant, Pineland Diner and later at Health Tex as a presser. She was married to Clyde E. Parker, until his death in 1987. Donna enjoyed going to American Legion Post No. 205, where she was a member of the auxiliary. She was also a member of Disabled American Veterans’ Post No. 2 Auxiliary and Good Sam Club. Donna and Clyde enjoyed camping together, as well as attending various functions at the Legion and DAV. Along with her husband, Donna was predeceased by her brothers, Herbert and Philip Blethen. She is survived by her sister, Muriel Blethen of Winthrop; her brothers, Roland Blethen of Davenport, Fla., and Roland Meader of Germany; her stepchildren, Marvin Parker of Augusta, Edward Parker of Gardiner, Mary Pollis of Westbrook and Lynn Parker of New York; a sister-in-law, Pearl Drost of Caribou; her adopted children, Holly, Frankie, Scottie, Michaela and Donald Pillsbury; along with several stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, where a celebration of her life will be held noon Friday. Burial will be held 1 p.m. at the Father LeClair Memorial Chapel at the old Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dunn’s Corner Baptist Church Building Fund, 238 Wings Mills Road, Mount Vernon, ME 04352.
