DOVER-FOXCROFT – Carol E. Clayton, 75, beloved wife of Earl E. Clayton Jr., died Oct. 14, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Caribou, the daughter of Carl and Lillian (Gagne) Durost. She was a great mother and hard worker with a heart of gold. She will be sadly missed by all. May the angels look upon her. She is survived by her husband, Earl of Dover-Foxcroft; two daughters, Melinda Decker and her husband, Wayne and their twins, Jordan and Maria, all of Bingham and Debbie Bailey and her husband, Daniel and their son, Harley, all of Alaska; two sons, Allen A. Hapeman and his wife, Shirley and their children, Allen III and Kristy, all of Terryville, Conn., and Jesse James Clayton of Dover-Foxcroft; and four sisters, Betty Osgood of Glenburn, Pat McDaniel and her husband, Wayne, of Washburn, Janet Collins of Belfast and Janice Doyon and her husband, Joe, of Florida. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev. Dr. Dodie Sheffield officiating.
