CUTLER – Stillman Wallace Fitzhenry, 83, passed away Oct. 12, 2009, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born April 16, 1926, in Cutler, son of Allen and Myrtle (Beam) Fitzhenry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, proudly serving as coxswain in the Pacific Theater, and participated in the Battle of Okinawa. Upon returning home to Cutler, he worked as a lobster fisherman, as well as a building contractor. He had a great love of being on the water, and being outdoors hunting and fishing. He was founder and first president of East Stream ATV Club. He dedicated a lot of his time and loved working on the trails. He will be remembered by riders who stopped by Stillman’s Restaurant to enjoy tea and blackened hot dogs. He was also a life member of Lookout Lodge No. 131 AF & AM serving as master, 1964-1965; life member of Washington Chapter No. 16 R.A.M., Machias; and a life member of Blanquefort Commandery No. 13 of Ellsworth. He was very active with the town of Cutler serving on many boards to include being first selectman for three terms, as well as assessor, planning board, board of appeals and dump committee. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mona (Ackley) Fitzhenry; two sons, Sterling and his wife, Cathy, and Stanley; a daughter, Janelle Look and her husband, Gary; two sisters, Margaret Geel and Norma Maker; grandchildren, Allan and his wife, Terry, Matthew and his wife, Renee, and Calli Harmon and her husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Emma and Abby, Dylan, Ashton, Austin and Ava, Olivia and Sophia Harmon; an aunt, Leona; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lou F. Roth. Graveside services with full military honors and Masonic memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at New Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, with Pastor Gary Look officiating. A reception will be after the services at Bay Ridge Elementary School. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations in his memory may do so to the Michael J.
