He was predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Jeanne Marie (Long) Nason. He was also predeceased by his sister, Marie; half sisters, Dorothy, Ruth, Muriel and Ola; and half brothers, Harold, Merrit, Glen, Cecil, Vernon, David and Lawrence. Francis is survived by his brothers, James and Alton Nason; sisters, Mavis Czosnek and Ella Mae Hilton, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two daughters, Sally Ann Nason and Elaine Berger; son-in-law, Robert Berger; three granddaughters, Anne Schlosser and husband, Thomas, of Gaithersburg, Md., Donna Rupinski and husband, Brent, of Loudon, Tenn., and Bonnie Harsh and husband, Gregory, of Centerville, Va.; eight great-grandchildren, Patrick, Lily and Virginia Schlosser, Mark Rupinski, Blaine, Wilhelmina, Georgianna and Bennett Rose Harsh; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Long Williams and Lillian W. Long. Francis had many dear friends; far too many to list, but some very special friends are Amy and Peter Stone, Mrs. Sherry Gray, Edward Diffin, Robert Williams, Dayle Owen, Deanna Sainati and Mary Lou MaGraw. Francis excelled in whatever he attempted. He especially loved walking in the woods, his camp and his home. He and Jeanne had owned a lumber company, real estate agency and fabric store in Hamden for many years. Upon returning to Grand Lake Stream 24 years ago, he continued working in real estate because he so loved working with people. He never retired. He was a Mason and a member of Lewey’s Lodge, Princeton. A graveside service will be held at a future date. Any contributions should be sent to Grand Lake Stream Congregational Church or PAWS, Calais.
