VAN BUREN – Roland J. Michaud, 81, died Oct. 18, 2009, at his residence. He was born April 20, 1928, in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, the son of Edmond and Hattie (Beaulieu) Michaud. He was employed as a carpenter for most of his life. He was former member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1635. Roland is survived by four sons, Donald Michaud and wife, Sally, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Eugene Michaud of Van Buren, Gerald Michaud and his wife, Gloria, of Putnam, Conn., and Patrick Michaud and friend, Rose Fortin, of Portland; three daughters, Linda Desjardins and husband, Roger, of St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Rachel Loth and husband, Frank, of Iron Station, N.C., and Rena Small and husband, Donald, of Rapid City, S.D.; three sisters, Rita Marcotte, Lucille Beaulieu and Therese Michaud, all of Montreal; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Therese (St. Pierre) Michaud in 2002; four sons, Raynold in 1954, Raymond in 1956, Reno in 1962, and Steven in 1992; one daughter, Rolande Ouellette in 1978; and by a grandson Xavier “Kirk” Michaud in 2009. There will be no funeral service. A committal service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at St. Bruno Cemetery.
