MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. – David P. Cormier, 53, passed away Aug. 20, 2009, at his home. He was born Feb. 26, 1956, son of the late Fidele Cormier and Angeline (Fortin) Cormier. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one niece, Sherry Violette. He is survived by two sisters, Janet (Cormier) Gagnon and her husband, Laurier, and Dorothy (Cormier) Violette and her husband, Leo. He was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in 1975, and was discharged as a sergeant in 1979. He received a letter and Medal of Commendation for Outstanding Performance, both on and off duty, while assigned at Edwards Air Force Base. He worked for Mammoth Ski Lodge as a pastry baker, and at Mammoth Lakes Laundry, Cinnamon Bear Inn and Shilo Inn as maintenance personnel. His memorial Mass will be held 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Burial will be at St. Bruno-St. Remi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sherry Violette Memorial Fund, care of Cary Medical Center, 163 Van Buren Road, Caribou, ME 04736.
