SEARSPORT – Nathaniel Chester Evans, 84, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, in Belfast. He was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Stockton Springs, the son of George and Annie (Curtis) Evans. George worked in the shoe factory for most of his life and was very active in his church. He was predeceased by his parents; and all of his siblings, Grace Young, Bessie Moody, Mable Haskell Erholm, Violet Pendleton, Kenneth Evans, Alice Cunningham, Eva Moody, Carl Evans, Geneva Grant and Marion Barrett. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette (Foss) Evans of Searsport; his son, Paul T. Evans Sr. of Searsport; a grandson, Paul T. Evans Jr. and wife, Estella; great-grandchildren, Dean Michael, and Christopher Brandon; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday.
