SHERMAN MILLS – Rudolph V. Long, 81, died Oct. 23, 2009, at a Millinocket hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Sherman, the son of Joseph P. and Sarah A. (Collins) Long. Rudolph served with the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a hard working man who enjoyed and loved his family, and had a special love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Rudolph is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria A. (Porter) Long of Sherman; two sons, Joseph R. Long and his wife, Laura, of Sherman and Mark I. Long and his wife, Cheryl, of Vanceboro; five daughters, Darlene M. Carr and her husband, Steven, of Eddington, Diana M. Tucker and her husband, Ola, of Patten, Bonita J. Clarke and her husband, Richard, of Augusta, Andrea G. Willette of Dakota, Ill., and Nicole M. Bennett and her husband, Robert, of Hooksett, N.H.; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearle Temple; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Darrell Glidden. He was predeceased by three brothers, Percy Long, Carroll Long and Irvin Long; and four sisters, Arlene Frank, Amy Strout, Florice Pasternak and Evelyn Hasselbrook.
