CARMEL – Nathalie E. (Mitchell) Tibbetts, 82, died Oct. 26, 2009, at a Bangor hospital, after a short period of ill health. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Stanwood) Mitchell. She married Charles Tibbetts, who died Aug. 24, 2002. Nathalie was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She loved to paint and was the family artist. She also was an accomplished cake decorator. Nathalie was a member of Carmel Union Congregational Church and AARP. In her younger years, she was a 4-H leader, worked in the Carmel school lunch program and at Emple Knitting Mills. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Joseph Quinn of Levant; three grandchildren, Shaun M. Quinn of Portland, Jason E. Quinn of Levant and Elke Blackstone of Massachusetts; two great-granddaughters, Tessa Marie Abston and Kaleigh Marie Quinn, both of Bangor. She will also be remembered by a special friend, Pete Gatcomb of Bangor. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Steven A. Tibbetts. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 28, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport, where funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct 29, with the Rev.
