Halloween is the date for The Bridge Alliance 3rd Coming Out Party, 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Oct. 31, at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer.
The costume event features a carnival midway with games, food and a cash bar and music by disc jockey Mike Flannery, according to the release.
Advance tickets are $25 and can be obtained from any Bridge Alliance member or at www.thebridgealliance.org.
If not sold out, tickets will be available at the door.
Members of the GLBTA, or Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Allies, community cordially invite everyone to attend.
For an additional $10, individuals can apply their ticket price to membership in The Bridge Alliance.

More than two dozen middle and high school students are “ready to take people back in time to the golden age of radio” during Brewer Youth Theatre’s sixth annual Halloween Radio Show at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Brewer Middle School, 5 Somerset St.
Director Rich Kimball knows the entire family will enjoy the program that features everything from “an alien invasion aided by children” to music and commercials of the past.
The show stars Kate Weigel, Emma Nichols, Alek Sayers, Rachel Sibley, Alex Cole and Christy Bruton, and admission is just $3 for adults, $2 for students.

Students of the University of Maine Parks, Recreation and Tourism program invite everyone to the first Autumn Bogfest, 2-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Orono Bog Boardwalk located within Bangor City Forest just off Stillwater Avenue.
Program coordinator Mary Bird reports “participants of all ages will enjoy games, scavenger hunts, healthy snacks and more” at this fun, autumnal, rain-or-shine event.
Registration is not required, but groups of more than six people are “strongly encouraged to call ahead at 866-2578 to ensure that sufficient materials will be available for all,” Bird wrote.
Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the area is wheelchair-accessible.

“In the spirit of Halloween,” e-mailed host Jonathan Sisson, “the Skeleton Crew will read tales and poems of the weird,” at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Unitarian Meetinghouse, 16 Shackford St., Eastport.
“This event is primarily for adults,” Sisson added, “but well-behaved children are welcome.”
Reading with Sisson will be Skeleton Crew members Barbara Barrett, Jonah Baskerville, Fred Engel, David Orrell and Linda Sisson.
Baskerville also will play “haunting organ music,” light refreshments will be served and, while there is no admission, “donations to the Meetinghouse Building Fund and Fuel Fund” will be “gratefully accepted,” Sisson wrote.

As part of its Learn at Your Library series organized by Barbara Baig, the Lincoln Library will hold a free program, Song Finders, featuring Stephen and Susan Sanfilippo, at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the library in Dennysville.
Ann Carter reports the duo has researched “historic songs, mostly of maritime and coastal life,” and that they will sing songs and invite audience participation.
Suggestions for future Learn at Your Library programs are also welcome, Carter added.

Deanna Partridge of Hammond Street Senior Center wants readers to know HSSC members have “been working their fingers to the bone” making fun treats “perfect for Halloween gifting.”
Everything from “spooky skeletons” to “hand-decorated wooden wands suitable for Harry Potters and Princesses alike,” are available 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. now through Friday, Oct. 30, at HSSC, 2 Hammond St., Bangor.
Partridge also reports that, starting Sunday, Nov. 1, Aunt Nellie’s Attic, 223 Main Road, or Route 1A, Holden will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.
After Nov. 1, store hours will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Donations of clean and usable home goods, furniture, dishes, jewelry, art and other nonclothing items are welcome for this new, thrift and treasure shop that helps support HSSC and its senior programs.
