ORLAND – Elmer L. Boyle, 91, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born March 29, 1918, in East Millinocket, the son of George and Vivian (Morrison) Boyle. He was an active member of East Bucksport United Methodist Church. Elmer was a member of Local 716 Plumbers and Pipefitters and belonged to many organizations. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He accomplished many things in his lifetime, but Elmer always said his greatest accomplishment was the day he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He tried hard to honor and serve his Lord, and was a friend to all who crossed his path. He was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia (Meader) Boyle, in 1973; and one brother, Herman M. Boyle, in 2007. He leaves to mourn his death a son, Louis Jr. and his wife, Joyce; son, Michael and his wife, Faye; daughter, Linda and her husband, Adrien Senecal; daughter, Paula and her husband, Gary Thomas; grandchildren, Louis Boyle III and wife, Diane, Shelly Reese and husband, Alan, Heidi Plourde and husband, Jeffrey, Michael Boyle Jr. and Tammy Smith, William Senecal, Michael Senecal and Sherry Senecal; and great-grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, Zachary Greenier, Alan John Reese, Riley Boyle, Keegan Plourde, Kaiden Plourde and Kameron Plourde. In 1978, he married Edith Morrison of Prince Edward Island, Canada, who survives him; and also the members of her family: Irma and George Williams and their daughter, Jennifer, Robert and Connie Morrison and their daughters, Bobby-Jo and Laura and her daughter, Alexandra. Family and friends will gather for visitation 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at East Bucksport United Methodist Church with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Burial will be afterward at Hillside Cemetery, East Bucksport.
