CORINNA – Douglas Lee Bruner, 43, died unexpectedly Oct. 26, 2009, at his home. He was born Oct. 15, 1966, in Oak Lawn, Ill., son of Virgil and Emma Jane (Acobert) Bruner. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and at the time of his death had been working for G.E. Security, Pittsfield. He loved sled dogs and enjoyed sled dog racing. He was a caring husband, brother and son, and was always willing to help others. Doug will always be remembered by Heather’s aunts and uncles for his helpfulness and always being there. He will be especially missed by his brother-in-law, Eric, for his friendship, and by the rest of his family and extended family. He is survived by his wife, Heather (Bullock) Bruner of Corinna; his mother, Jane Bruner; paternal grandmother, Mabel Fergerson; two brothers, Jeff Bruner and Rod Bruner and his wife, Tracy; and a foster brother, Michael Bollen, all of Illinois. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Deacon Frederick Harrigan officiating.
