NEWBURGH – Frederick Nathan Trimm Jr. passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at his home. Nat was a 1945 graduate of Fort Fairfield High School. He served in the Navy during the last months of World War II and in the Army during the Korean War. He went on to graduate from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and then the University of Massachusetts, where he earned his master’s degree. Frederick had a long teaching career with Fort Fairfield High School, where he was involved in the math and science department. He then returned to the University of Maine and received a degree of advanced studies in guidance counseling. He worked as a guidance counselor at East Millinocket, Van Buren and Houlton high schools. Surviving are his son, Nathan R. Trimm of Canton; his brother, Frederick T. Trimm of Fort Fairfield; a sister, Maureen Roberts of Ocala, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Hunter and Caroline Trimm of Canton. In keeping with Nat’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
