DOVER-FOXCROFT – Walter Nelson, 96, died Oct. 25, 2009. He was born July 28, 1913, in New York City, the son of William and Aurelia Nelson. Walter attended Brooklyn and City colleges. He worked as an accountant until becoming vice president of Linahan Co. He was married to Mary Svirida for 67 years, until her death in 2007. He is survived by his son, Carl Nelson and wife, Beverly, of Topsfield, Mass.; daughter, Ingrid Nelson of Bradford; and sister, Lenore Case of Rio Linda, Calif. His grandchildren, Kate and William Brucher, and Abigail, Elissa and Alec Nelson remember him for his intelligence and kindness.
