MARS HILL – Doris Howlett, 76, passed away Monday Oct. 26, 2009, at her residence. She was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Caribou, the daughter of Joseph and Cecile (Guerrette) Theriault. Doris worked for many years in door to door sales for various companies and thoroughly enjoyed being out with the people she sold to. In the past two years she has worked at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle, cooking and cleaning for the clergy. Doris had a strong faith in God and was devout in her prayers and serving others. She was also known for her culinary skills, which lead her to do catering. She is survived by four daughters, Brenda Holbrook of Green Valley, Ariz., Laurie Michaud of Presque Isle, Barbara McKeen and her husband, Brent, of Mars Hill, and Beth Pelletier and her husband, Michael, of Presque Isle; three brothers, Joel Theriault of Caribou, Roland Theriault of Littleton and Cecil Theriault of Blaine; and a sister, Della Beaulieu of Caribou. She also leaves behind eight loving grandchildren, Jamie Tweedie, Heather Alvarez, Chris Michaud, Angela McKenney, Stephanie Caverhill, Wade McKeen, Matthew Pelletier and Melissa Pelletier; six great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Merle H. “Mickey” Howlett, in 1991; and four brothers, Henry, Patrick, Harold and Armand. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mars Hill, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, celebrant. Interment will take place after the service at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. A reception will be held after the committal at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in the fellowship hall.
