GLENBURN – Katherine Braley, 79, was called home to be with her beloved husband, Ernest A. Braley, Oct. 27, 2009, with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Bangor, the daughter of Walter and Wilma Babb. Katherine worked for Old Town Canoe for many years, then Ansewn Shoe before her retirement. Katherine liked to dance and travel. She was a life member of Milwee Chapter No. 198 Order of the Eastern Star. She was predeceased by an infant son, Craig; a sister, Barbara; and a brother, Kenneth. Surviving are her children, David and his wife, Gloria, Doug, Mark and his girlfriend, Joy, Dwight, Evelyn and her husband, Gary, Dale and his wife, Peggy, Rodney and his wife, Beth, Colleen and her husband, Dwayne, Collette, and Melody and her husband, Fred; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bob and Brad. The family thanks the staff at Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation for all the support and care they gave their Mom. Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a Star Point service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, by the members of Milwee Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, with a funeral service afterward with the Rev. Garnett Chute officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Glenburn. Family and friends are invited to the home of her daughter, Evelyn Cookson, for conversation and refreshments after the burial.
