MAXFIELD – Zygmund L. Hryc, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at his home. Born in Upstill, Ohio, he had lived in New Brunswick, N.J., for 50 years before moving to Maine in 2002. He had worked as a machinist at E.R. Squibb & Son, New Brunswick, N.J., prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hryc was a communicant of St. Leo’s R.C. Church, Howland, and a former communicant of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, New Brunswick, N.J. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2510, Bound Brook, N.J.; Veterans’ of Foreign Wars Nelson Post No. 370, New Brunswick, N.J.; and Bristol Myers Squibb Retirees Activity Club. His wife, Helen V. Rogazski Hryc died in 1996. Surviving are his daughter, Michele Hryc of Maxfield; a sister, Joan Lukenda of Basking Ridge, N.J.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:15 a.m. Monday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, N.J., with a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church, New Brunswick, N.J. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be after at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manville, N.J.
