GUILFORD – William F. Hume passed away quietly Oct. 30, 2009, surrounded by family and friends at Maine Medical Center, Portland. His life partner and fiancee, Jackie Brammer, was by his side as she had been for more than 13 years. Born May 7, 1949, in Millinocket, he was the son of the late Robert and Rosemarie Hume Jr. He was a resident of Guilford for more than 35 years and operated a successful print shop, North Main Printers, Guilford, for more than 30 years. He was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1967, and a 1973 graduate of the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business. During his high school years, he and his family of three brothers operated the Millinocket Journal until 1967. He was a member of Guilford School Board and sponsored many community activities in Guilford. He was a loving father to his daughter, Michelle; and grandson, Joseph; and his fiancee’s children and grandchildren. He was the brother of Robert and wife, Candie Hume, of Woodbury, Minn., John David Hume and Timothy Vigue of Litchfield, and Benjamin Hume of Dover-Foxcroft. He will be forever missed by his extended family and friends. A special thanks to Marsha Walden of Community Health and Counseling Services. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Masonic hall in Guilford.
