REDINGTON SHORES, Fla. – Benjamin Franklin Murphy Jr., 97, commander, U.S. Navy, retired, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, in Bangor, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Donald Meagher. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Emilia. He is deeply missed and always loved by his three daughters, Patricia Maier, Kathleen Murphy Meagher and Karen Murphy Amoroso; six grandchildren, Bryan and Kevin Reid, Sean and Ryan Lelchuk, Meghan and Briana Amoroso; three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Rocco Reid and Emilia Grace Reid; and sons-in-law, Gordon Maier, Donald Meagher and James Amoroso. There will be a Catholic memorial Mass 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. Burial will be in Florida at a future date. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport.
