TERRYVILLE, Conn., and CARIBOU – Robert W. Johnston, 60, died unexpectedly, Oct. 24, 2009, at his Terryville, Conn., residence. He was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Caribou, the son of Wilford and Marie (Lagasse) Johnston. He was educated in Caribou and was a graduate of Caribou High School, Class of 1966. He enjoyed music, hunting and fishing. After moving to Connecticut and working for Chippanee Gold Club, he learned and loved the game of golf. Bob is survived by his mother, Marie Johnston of Caribou; his son, Jared Johnston of Caribou; his daughter, Mackenzie Stevenson and her husband, Tyler, of Wayne; two grandsons, Wyatt and Isaac, both of Wayne; two sisters, Joanne Deveau and her husband, Jim, of Terryville, Conn., and Susan Johnston of Augusta; a brother, Roger Johnston of Bristol, Conn.; nieces, Teasha and Shannon; nephews, Aron, Jason, Christian, Troy and Chad; the mother of his children, Carol Johnston of Caribou; a special person in his life, Donna LaMontagne of Terryville, Conn.; along with many aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Wilford Johnson. Family and friends may visit with the family 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, where services will begin 2 p.m. with Father Aaron Damboise officiating.
