PLYMOUTH – Darryl Armond LaCroix, 67, died Nov. 6, 2009, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Rumford, a son of Armond and Barbara (Carroll) LaCroix. He graduated from Revere High School and served in the U.S. Air Force in the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked as an auto mechanic and retired as a Maine state corrections officer. Darryl was a past member of Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department. The greatest pleasure of his life was the time that he was able to spend with his family and especially his 11 grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 33 years, Linda (Croce) LaCroix of Plymouth, he is survived by three sons, Darryl Scott LaCroix of Everett, Mass., Dennis and wife, Cindy Gaudet, of Dexter, and Jason and wife, Angie Gaudet, of Plymouth; three daughters, Jennifer LaCroix, and Amanda and husband Jeff Chretien, all of Plymouth, and Stacy LaCroix of Newport; a brother, Michael and wife, Dorothy LaCroix, of Windham, N.H.; three sisters, Suzanne and husband, Richard Lind, of Georgetown, Mass., Karol and husband, John Berrini, of Newton, N.H., and Kathy and husband, Robert Willis, of Revere, Mass.; and 11 grandchildren, Schuyler, Michael, Shea-Lee, Spencer, Cody, Caden, Bailey, Darylin, Delaina, Brayden and Cassidy. He was predeceased by a sister, Karen Saponaro; and by his mother, Barbara and stepfather, Anthony Nutile. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where a service of remembrance will be held 4 p.m. with the Rev. George Finnemore officiating.
