DEXTER – Herman Belanger, 70, passed away peacefully Nov. 9, 2009, surrounded by his family at his Main Street residence. He was born Feb. 13, 1939, in St. Agatha, a son of Louis and Bernadette (Collins) Belanger. He married Elsie Rockwell, Nov. 24, 1956. He retired as a foreman at Dexter Shoe Co., after working there for 43 years. Herman was a communicant of St. Anne’s Parish where he served as a greeter. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and volunteered with his wife at Our Lady’s Kitchen. He will be remembered as “Papa” to everyone. He liked to work in his wood shop making things for his family. In addition to his wife of nearly 53 years, he is survived by three daughters, Lorraine and husband, Stephen Wintle, of Dexter, Darlene and husband, Reggie Scott, of Orono, and Carmelita and husband, Jerry Chini, of Vineland, N.J.; three sons, Scott and fianc?e, Julie, of Dixmont, Jeffrey and wife, Susan, of Garland, and Sheldon and wife, Jessica, of Lancaster, N.H.; two brothers, Eugene and wife, Gail, of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Perry and wife, Theresa, of Garland; six sisters, Martine and husband, Kenneth Sargent, Louise and husband, Buffard Thompson, Sandra and husband, Terry Gaughan, all of Bristol, Conn., Bobbi Belanger of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Bernice and husband, Paul Tillotta, of Southington, Conn., and Gail Belanger of Farmington, Conn.; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with the Rev.
