MEDWAY – Wendell P. McLaughlin, 68, husband of Marianne (Pelkey) McLaughlin, passed away Nov. 23, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 1, 1941, in Medway, the son of Vernard and Grace (Twist) McLaughlin. Wendell was a loving husband and father, and there was nothing that he would not do for his wife and children. Wendell was known to his grandchildren as “Bamp” and was called that name by most children that knew and loved him. He was the best bamp in the world and would always stop whatever he was doing to spend time with them. He was a pilot, farmer, woodsman and an avid outdoorsman. He loved his camp. In addition to his wife, Marianne, he is survived by three sons and their families: Blaine and Patty McLaughlin and their children, Nikki and Dave Cram and their daughter, Marissa, Kasey McLaughlin, Casey McLaughlin and Wendell “Mac” McLaughlin, Dale and Christine McLaughlin and their children, Dylan and Cameron McLaughlin, and Chad and Ann McLaughlin and their son, Nathan McLaughlin; and a brother, Delmont McLaughlin and his wife, Betty. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Vern Jr. and Evelyth. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Temple – Assembly of God, 2 Orchard St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating.
